Spring 2024 Menu

Cost of School Meals and Payment Information

Since September 2014 the government has funded all schools in England to provide every child in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 with a hot, nutritious meal at lunch time.  The aim is to improve academic attainment and save families money. Pupils in KS2 are required to pay for their school meals.

From 5th September 2023 school meals will be charged as;

£2.55 per day

£12.75per week

The total price for this half term is £73.95 to cover meals from 15th April to 24th May 2024.

The total price for next half term is £89.25 to cover meals from 3rd June to 19th July 2024.

Payment for school dinners is to be made via the School Gateway app in advance.

Please note that the School Gateway app doesn't update daily and, as such, the balance may not include all meals taken.

If you are unable to pay via the app please contact the school office.

Due to the ordering deadlines for the kitchen, the notification period to change to packed lunch or school meals is 2 full school working weeks.

Since September 2023 we have added a Halal option to our menu. If children would like the Halal option, they will need to ask for this when they get to the counter.

Please note that whilst every effort is made to provide the menu as stated, occasionally we may have to substitute items due to availability.

ALLERGIES AND INTOLERANCES

Due to the high number of children in the school with severe nut allergies, we are taking the precaution of banning all nuts and food items containing nuts from the school site.

We already operate a nut free kitchen but to ensure the safety of all children throughout the whole of the school day this has been extended to packed lunches and snacks. Please check the contents of any packaged foods you provide to your children as they may contain nuts e.g. Nutella, some muesli bars, cakes and biscuits.

If your child wishes to take a school meal and requires a special diet due to allergies/medical needs, please read the guidance below from Leeds Catering which explains how we cater for this.

Packed Lunch Guidance

School menus incorporate the new EU Allergen Law and also the new School Food Standards which started on 1st January 2015.

See below links for the Allergen and Food Standards information.

FREE SCHOOL MEALS

It is vital that all parents and carers of pupils who are entitled to free school meals and those, whose financial circumstances change in the future, continue to apply for them. The amount of funding our school receives from Leeds City Council is linked to the number of pupils who are entitled to free school meals.

Parents and carers who think that their child may be entitled to free school meals should contact Leeds Benefit Service, 2 Great George Street, Leeds Telephone: 222 4404 or follow this link for details of how to apply:
