GETTING TO SCHOOL AT THE RIGHT TIME

Punctual arrival at school is expected. The morning session starts at 8.55 a.m. and the afternoon session at 1:05 pm or 1.20 p.m. Ideally your child should arrive at school at 8.50 a.m. Please be aware that school’s duty of care starts at 8:55 am and prior to that time, the children are your responsibility. External doors are locked promptly at shortly after 8.55 a.m to ensure children’s safety and for security reasons. If your child arrives late, parents or carers will need to report to the school office where you will be required to record the reason for your child’s lateness.

School finishes at 3.30 p.m.

ABSENCE FROM SCHOOL

The Attendance Policy states that the school needs to be informed by telephone (0113 2682341) or email if your child is going to be absent from school. This helps the school and you to guard against truancy and ensure your child is safe. We expect notification on the first day of absence and if we do not receive a message (telephone, verbal or email) by 9.30 a.m., we will telephone the first contact number you have supplied us with on your child’s admission form. If no contact is received, the absence will be classed as unauthorised.

DOGS

For health and safety reasons, it is a policy of the governing body that dogs should not be brought into the school grounds by parents and carers.  Dogs should also not be left tied up, unaccompanied, by the school railings. Please arrange for your child to meet you and wait for him/her by the school gates if you have to bring your dog to school.
