Reading
Every child will receive two reading books and a library book to take home each week on their designated day- please listen to your child read as much as possible at home (we recommend 3 times a week) and sign their reading record when you have done so.
Each week, we will also be assigning Oxford Owl ebooks, which you can access by logging into your account on the Oxford Owl website.
Phonics and Spelling
As well as having access to the Oxford Owl ebooks, teachers will be assigning phonics homework on the Spelling Shed platform. This will be assigned every Friday. Here the children can practise phonics and spellings for sounds we have learnt that week.
Alongside the online spelling homework, your child will also receive a green homework book which contains additional homework tasks for your child to complete at home. This will mainly be for writing practise but may sometimes contain homework tasks relating to other subjects.
The green homework books will be given out on a Friday and should be returned to school by the following Wednesday.
Each week, children will be assigned maths homework on the White Rose Infinity platform
Children will be provided with their own personal White Rose Infinity login. To access the platform, pupils can use the school access code: VZGKMY
For those using tablets, the White Rose Infinity app is available to download from both the App Store and Google Play.
Alternatively the platform can be accessed via a web browser at:

Additional Information
Logins for all websites to access homework will be given to your child at the appropriate time and can be found glued in the back of their reading record.
For additional educational content and fun, your child will gain access to their own db primary account- where they can play educational games and upload work/photographs should they wish for their teachers to see. This account will be used throughout their time at Wigton Moor, right up to Year 6 and is monitored closely by teachers and staff according to online safety policies.
The links to all websites required can also be found on the main 'Year 1' page, and on your child's db primary page.
Thank you for your support in helping your child learn at home!
