Design & Technology...Year 5 have had a busy few days at the end of term researching, designing, sewing and printing their Anglo-Saxon belt. They learnt about Saxon clothing and the importance of the belt; they developed their sewing skills, marking and sewing a hem using the back stitch and pulling the belt through; they designed two types of printing tile - a relief block and an impressed block; and finally, they printed their belts with a repeating Saxon design. The belts will be used in their costumes next Spring Term when we perform our Saxon/Viking play. We think they look fantastic!
