Children in Y5 are expected to do up to two hours of homework a week. This includes practising their reading, completing a homework task on My Maths and a piece of English/Topic homework relevant to the work done in class that week, to be completed on paper.
Maths
Weekly maths homework is now completed online on My Maths. Children have been given their log on details which are in their reading record. Please log on to access the tasks.

English/Topic
English or topic homework is handed out on paper every Tuesday and should be brought back to school by the following Monday so it can be marked in class.
Reading
Children should read for a minimum of 10 minutes every day. More details and help can be found below.
Don't forget you can also try various activities on DB primary!
Please remember to listen to your child read regularly every week at home. You can discuss what they like/dislike about their chosen library book, who their favourite characters are, ask them to give you a synopsis of the story or ask them to predict what they think is going to happen.
Sharing books and reading regularly can increase your child's confidence and widen their vocabulary - in Year 5, we love reading!!
